So our Morpheus! loudspeaker and interconnect cables are slowly making their way into the hands of eager Black Catters, new and old, and the feedback has begin to trickle in. A more recent one I've been given permission to share, from Black Catter Bill Cesanek:
Chris,
I installed the new Morpheus cables upon delivery last week.
To cut to the chase, I am very impressed. My previous cables, which sold in the $700-800/pair range, have been distinctly and significantly trumped !
The speakers cables seem very well balanced, even right out of the box. Without any break-in, the midrange was stronger for my system that my old cables, which was a nice surprise. I roll off bass under 100 Hz to a separate woofer/amp/cable, but the low mids seems very clear and real, as did the entire midrange. The high frequencies seem a wee bit compressed, but in my experience, that is the effect of new Teflon. (I know that Teflon dielectric can takes scads of break-in time.) I anticipate the high end opening up as the Teflon is saturated.
This is a really fantastic speaker cable, period. And, at your asking price, I am amazed. I’m tempted to get another pair for my sub/woofers and see how they do over my “designed for subs” speaker cables.
I hear much talk about dragon slaying, but I have not really seen much equipment that is not trounced if you are willing to spend 3x or more. This is the one time where my sense is that I would need to spend well above $1500 per pair level to get any significant improvement, and even at that level, I would wonder if the small potential improvement would be worth the investment.
By the way, these seem much better than the original Morpheus, which were good, but did not excel the way these do.
Just my two cents. Have a great Holiday season !!!
Bill C
Thanks, Bill!

Comment by Rene Almaguer on January 5, 2012 at 7:32am Hi Chris. I was about to pull the trigger on the Veloce 75 when I glanced down the page and saw that the Veloce Silverstar 75 is about to come out. Is the arrival of the Silverstar iminent? is it worth the wait?
Thanks.
